Survey
Before designing SnackFlicks, I surveyed moviegoers to validate pain points and identify key needs. The findings highlighted frustrations with waiting in line, snack juggling, and disruptions.
Competitive Analysis
I analyzed both direct and indirect competitors to understand existing solutions, focusing on convenience, speed, and user-friendly ordering experiences.
Research Synthesis
After conducting user research and synthesizing data, I identified key pain points through affinity mapping
Ideate
Designing solutions to enhance the movie snack experience
User Flow
After conducting exploratory and market research, I developed a comprehensive user flow for the SnackFlicks app
Prototype
Bringing designs to life
Low Fidelity Design
I created low-fidelity wireframes to quickly visualize core layouts, user flows, and key features
Usability Testing
I conducted usability testing with three target users to evaluate the low-fidelity prototype’s structure and flow.
✅ Users liked the simple and clean layout of the wireframes.
✅ They appreciated how easy it was to follow the main task flow from home to checkout.
✅ The concept of pre-ordering and seat delivery felt convenient and exciting, even in early designs.
Pain Points
❌ Users found some screens cluttered and confusing.
❌ The navigation bar placement and icons were not intuitive and caused hesitation.
❌ Users suggested having clearer labels and more visual hierarchy for action buttons.

What I learned
-
Constant testing and iteration helped me identify small but impactful improvements that made the experience more intuitive.
-
Designing for both snack ordering and the movie experience taught me how important it is to streamline flows without overwhelming users
-
From QR scanning to real-time tracking, I learned that small features can significantly enhance user satisfaction when thoughtfully implemented.
Future Iteration
While SnackFlicks currently focuses on simplifying snack ordering and delivery, I envision expanding the experience to include the entire movie journey. In the future, users should be able to seamlessly pick a movie, choose seats, and order snacks - all within one smooth, unified flow
